Hi....my name is Scott, and my wife and I visited Scotland around 20 years ago, and absolutely loved the people and the places we visited.    We are planning a send strip in 2025 with our traveling buddies who have never been.   we are in the early planning stages so I will be asking your opinions about things.   first off...we would like to rent a car and drive from Glasgow around the northern roads and then down to Edinburgh.  will we have any difficulty getting petrol for this kind of vacationing.  I am unsure how populated  the northern most parts of Scotland are.

Thanks, and I look forward to chatting with you in the future.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for your message.

That sounds like a great idea to hire a car for your trip, it's definitely the best way to see the Highlands and gives you the most control. You will have no problems finding places to fill up your car. If you're doing the North Coast 500 route, I have a guide here on all of the petrol stations available:

In any location around Inverness and the Fort William/Oban area, there are many fuel stations, you really won't have to worry.

Thanks,
Chris
