Cobbs Cafe Aviemore

We woke up at the Cairngorm Hotel on day two of my birthday tour around central Scotland. This was our second stay at the Cairngorm, and it didn't disappoint; however, we decided on this occasion not to opt for the breakfast at the hotel - Cobbs Cafe across the road would be the breakfast establishment of choice this time!

My wife and I had never been to Cobbs Cafe before despite visiting Aviemore many times in the past, so we weren't sure what to expect. Arriving at Cobbs, it was busy! A great sign, but I'm not a massive fan of loud, busy environments. I noted that outdoor seating was available, and they had a licensed bar.

We sat near the entrance at a table for two; the helpful and polite waitress took our drinks order and left us with the menu. There were many great things on the menu, my wife Janette opted for the full-cooked breakfast, and I chose the croissant with bacon and cheese.
There were many tourists in the cafe from around the world; it was a joy hearing all the different accents and languages spoken aloud.
After a short wait, we received our order; the pictures speak for themselves - big portions!
A big breakfast in Aviemore
The cooked breakfast came with bacon, beans, tomato, fried egg, Lorne sausage, black pudding, sausage and toast with butter and jam. My bacon and cheese croissant came with a delicious side salad and some crisps.
I enjoyed my croissant, and Janette couldn't finish her Lorne sausage, so I gobbled that too; it was really nice.

After we had scoffed our food, we opted to get some pancakes to finish off. You only get two small pancakes, but they were excellent and come with mixed berries, cream and a pot of maple syrup. The portion size was just right for us to share after a big breakfast.

Aviemore
Aviemore is a popular tourist resort town in the east Highlands of central Scotland. There is no shortage of nice shops, restaurants and hotels in Aviemore, my favourites being the Cairngorm Hotel and The Winking Owl.
Local attractions include skiing, quad bike treks, aerial adventure courses and kayaking.
Our favourite place to stay for a week in Aviemore is Scandinavian Village.
Where is Cobbs Cafe?
Cobbs Cafe is located on the main shopping street in Aviemore - Grampian Road. Next door is the Visit Scotland Tourist Information, useful if you are looking for more information on things to do around Aviemore. On its left side is the Highland Soap Company shop full of lovely smelly things - my wife loves the Hebridean Seaweed hand wash.
What are Cobbs Cafe's opening hours?
7.30 am - 4.30 pm every day apart from an 8 am opening on Sunday.
Do Cobbs Cafe have a menu online?
It's hard to find, but there are pictures on their Facebook page, but they are on their side and hard to read. These Facebook menus look different from those we received on our recent visit but will likely be similar and give you an idea of what is available.
Conclusion
There are many cafes nearby in Aviemore, but we can heartily recommend Cobbs Cafe for breakfast while you're in Aviemore. We will try lunch next time!
Our Cobbs breakfast was a great way to start our day; we left Aviemore for Pattack Falls, our next destination on my 40th birthday central Scotland tour.
